What is Nanotechnology?

Nano is the billionth of a meter. A human hair is about 50,000 nanometers and a red blood cell is about 5,000 nanometers, and there's exactly 25,400,000 nanometers in an inch! The uses of nanotechnology stretch from everyday use to specifically medical use.

Why is Nanotechnology so Important?

New inventions such as the atomic force microscope (AFM) and scanning tunneling microscope (STM) has revolutionized nanotechnology's abilities. This new technology allows scientists to manipulate and manufacture new structures, which wasn't possible before.
